The FMHDSD office responsible for building the National Social Register of Poor & Vulnerable Households NASSCO which also coordinates Social Protection programs in Nigeria has stated that the government is scaling up the National Social Safety Nets Project (NASSP) and expanding the Rapid Response Register (RRR) to reach 5 million Urban poor with cash transfers and Safety Nets.
Inline with the statement above, they have advised the general public to Ignore fake reports claiming that the project is ending soon.
The Covid-19 Rapid Response Register (RRR) targeted urban dwellers made poorer by the pandemic for assistance. Today,the RRR serves more purposes including its potential as a foundation for Nigeria’s social security system.
NASSCO has also alerted the public to be mindful of scams circulated via text messages bearing the name of NASSCO and requesting you to call phone numbers with your bank details. This is the handwork of fraudsters to defraud members of the public. Don’t respond to such messages. NASSCO said.
