  1. Pharmacy International Bursary
  • The award: £2,000 per year
  • Who is eligible: Overseas students who are self-funded.

  • The award: £2,000 per year
  • Who is eligible: Overseas students who are self-funded.

Psychology International Bursary 

  • The award: £2,000 per year
  • Who is eligible to apply: This merit-based bursary is awarded to five international students who have been accepted onto the three-year Psychology programme.

School of Biological Sciences Excellence Scholarship

  • The award: £2,000 per year
  • Who is eligible to apply: Overseas students with an offer to study any one of the undergraduate programmes in the School of Biological Sciences.

Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards

  • The award:  £1,000
  • Who is eligible: The University awards this to approximately the top 0.5% of undergraduate students at graduation each year.

BP Achievement Awards

  • The award: £1,000 per year.
  • Who is eligible: First and second-year undergraduate students in the following discipline areas: Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Environmental Sciences (including Geology), Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics.

BP Stem Scholarships

  • The award: £3,000 per year.
  • Who is eligible: First-year undergraduate students in the following discipline areas: Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Earth and Environmental Sciences (including Geology), Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics and Astronomy.

International Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships

  • The award:  £2,000 per year
  • Who is eligible: Well qualified international students who apply for any undergraduate degree course within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Indian Excellence Scholarships

  • The award: £80,000 available over three awards. The highest ranked student will receive £40,000 payable as £10,000 per year, for up to four years of study. Two students will receive awards of £20,000 each payable as £5,000 per year, for up to four years of study.
  • Who is eligible: any Indian student who can demonstrate excellent levels of attainment while studying the International Baccalaureate or Standard XII.

Earth and Environmental Science

William Boyd Dawkins Scholarships

  • The award: £1,000 in Year 1.
  • Who is eligible: Students who achieve AAA at A-level (or equivalent) will be awarded our prestigious William Boyd Dawkins Scholarship. To be eligible, offer holders will need to have put the University as their firm choice. Successful recipients will receive a one-off payment of £1,000 during their first year of study.

Materials Science and Engineering Programmes

  • The award: £3,000 or £5,000.
  • Who is eligible: Outstanding home and international applicants for all Materials Science and Engineering Programmes will be eligible for an automatic Department of Materials and Faculty scholarship with a total value of £5,000 if they achieve A*A*A* grades at A-level (or equivalent) or £3,000 if they achieve grades A*A*A at A level (or equivalent).

International Mathematics Scholarship

  • The award: £1,000 per year.
  • Who is eligible: All new international students who satisfy the mathematical component of their entrance requirement. The award, which lasts as long as your undergraduate degree, whether that is three or four years, is paid automatically in the first year; after that payment is subject to you maintaining at least a 65% exam average. All international students will be considered automatically for this scholarship and need not apply for it. We’ll notify you of your eligibility for the International Mathematics Scholarship as soon as we know whether you satisfy the entrance requirements.

International Mathematical Excellence Scholarship

  • The award: £2,000 per year.
  • Who is eligible: These excellence scholarships are for one academic year and are awarded to the best students each year, the decision being based on the previous years’ exam results.

  • The award: £2,000, payable during the first year of the course.

  • The award: A paid internship and the possibility of further work
  • Who is eligible: First-year undergraduate students studying relevant subjects

  • The award: IET membership, a bursary, contribution towards tuition fees and books/software and professional development training.
  • Who is eligible: BEng/MEng students with high grades studying electrical and power engineering.

  • The award: Various
  • Who is eligible: Any students looking to study mechanical engineering, or those ready to progress their career in the industry.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)

  • The award: Up to £3,000 per year
  • Who is eligible: Students about to commence any IET accredited MEng or BEng degree course and expected to achieve a minimum of three Bs at A level (or equivalent).

Manchester Law Scholars Award

  • The award: up to 25% of the annual undergraduate overseas tuition fee.
  • Who is eligible: Overseas students enrolling for a full-time undergraduate degree in the Department of Law and paying overseas tuition fees. The scholarship is not available to any students joining a degree programme after Year 1. More information can be found on the Department of Law website.
