About the program
The Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) scheme is a scholarship program that aims to support exceptional research students enrolled in research priority areas aligned with the University’s. The International Research Training Program is the Australian Commonwealth Government scholarship scheme for supporting international higher degree research candidates. This scheme is administered by individual universities on behalf of the Department of Education, Skills and Employment.
Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarships and International Research Training Program Scholarship are available to those applying for direct entry to:
- Master of Research – Year 2
- Doctor of Philosophy
Eligibility Requirements for Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship
- Interested Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than Australia/New Zealand, and not an Australian Permanent Resident
- Interested Applicants will plan to undertake a Master of Research Year 2 or Doctor of Philosophy in S2 2023 (no deferrals possible)
- Interested Applicants intend to reside in Sydney, Australia during your candidature
- Interested Applicants meet the HDR English Language Requirement by the application closing date
- Interested Applicants meet the admission criteria for entry into the Master of Research – Year 2 (MRes Y2) or PhD, for commencement in S2 2023
- Interested Applicants will have a valid visa allowing you to commence your study in S2 2023
- Interested Applicants must have confirmation of supervision from an eligible Macquarie University researcher (compulsory for FMHHS and desirable for the other faculties)
