How to Apply For Youth Employment In Agric business And Sustainable Agriculture YEASA Recruitment The Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) together with International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Africa Rice Center (AfricaRice), University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC) and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) have all come together to jointly announce International Training in Youth Employment in Agribusiness and Sustainable Agriculture. This training goal is set to improve the livelihoods of rural living on agriculture and agriculture based enterprises with the solemn objective to recruit the youth at large for enhanced technical, business/entrepreneurial skills for increased yield, incomes and creation of more employment opportunities.

The training which had started since 2019 will be on through to 2021 and will accommodate 1,000 unskilled and unemployed rural youths who have attained at least, secondary education in Nigeria (650 youths; Oyo and Ekiti States only) and the Republic of Benin (350 youths; Cotonou and Parakou only) with a minimum ratio of 50% women and 50% men will be selected and trained to acquire productive skills for beneficial self-employment and employment in the agro-industry of Nigeria and Republic of Benin.

Required criterias for selection:

Interested applicants for the agro-industrial recruitment should note;

  • A target of 1,000 unskilled and unemployed rural youth with at least secondary education in Nigeria (650) and the Republic of Benin (350) will be trained to acquire productive skills for gainful  and self employment in agro-industry.
  • A minimum ratio of 45% women and 55% men and vice versa in areas where women are more.

Countries to be focused on by YEASA, are The Republics of Nigeria and Republic of Benin

Factors to be considered during the recruitment screening;

  • Detailed or Certificated Evidence of Age (must be within the ranges of 18-35 years)
  • Well known or detailed involvement in business or Agribusiness either previously or presently

Area of Concentration in Nigeria: The only states to be considered for this recruitment in Nigeria are Ekiti and Oyo states.

Concentration Regions in Republic of Benin: Regions of interests in Benin Republic are Cotonou and Parakou

Work Phases: Successful recruits will work or do the following;

-Undergo training to acquire skills in operational and management of business,

-Technical training to develop commercial products and/or services,

-Business planning and organisation including systems, roles, and product quality,

-Customer/client focus to meet the needs and satisfy requirements including two elements; product pricing and timely delivery;

-Business management, i.e. preparation of cash flows, revenue projections, balance sheet, product offering/service provision to clients/customers assessing risks, market identification and segmentation.
