BACKGROUND:

Africa Youth Growth Foundation (AYGF) is a Non-Governmental Organization set up for the purpose of contributing to positive change to the economic and social status of the youth population through constructive programs that deliver sustainable outcome.
AYGF was founded in 2003, but registered in 2006, has been working extensively with stakeholders to tackle issues around Migration and Development, Democratic Governance.
Currently the organization is being funded by EU through The International Organization for Migration (IOM) on a  project tilted, ‘Border Operatives and Migrant Protection Project (BOMPP)’, Under the EU-IOM initiative for Migrant Protection and Re-integration in Nigeria. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating with cross discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines and schedules.
  • Meeting with project team to identify and resolve issues.
  • Submitting project deliverable and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
  • Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing and summarizing relevant information.
  • Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  • Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Coordinating the development of user manuals, training materials and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation of projects.
  • Identifying and developing new opportunities with Partners and Donors.
  • Managing Donor satisfaction within project transition period.
  • Conducting post project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Project oversight.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
  • Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
  • Experience as a project manager in the NGO Sector.
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.

  • Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson for the organization.

  1. Training of project staff.
  2. Literature/desk review of legal and administrative framework for labour inspection and law enforcement activities in Nigeria.
  3. Stakeholders consultation on labour inspection and law enforcement activities in Nigeria.
  4. Capacity building and sensitization workshop for migrant workers in Nigeria on their rights, privileges, obligations and responsibilities through their leaders across the country.
  5. Baseline survey and focused group discussion on labour inspection and law enforcement in Nigeria (including design and administration of questionnaires).

Required Skills and Experience

Project consultants need a bachelor’s degree in relevant field,.

·         A Master’s degree will be an added advantage

·         Five years proven experience in the NGO Sector

·         Must be familiar with Labour Inspection  services, National Policy and Labour Migration
